Meet and Greet Service
The State of South Australia welcomes all migrants and would like to encourage more people to make our State their home and enjoy the enriching lifestyle we have to offer.
Immigration SA has developed a program called On Arrival Services to help skilled migrants settle in our State. Further information on this service can be found below.
On Arrival Accommodation
The On Arrival Accommodation service offers temporary accommodation to skilled migrants wishing to settle permanently in South Australia.
This unique service is provided on a once-only basis when you arrive in Adelaide and can be organised prior to your arrival in South Australia.
The OAA service for skilled migrants entering Australia by employer sponsored visas offers information about private temporary accommodation.

Meet and Greet Service
The Meet and Greet Service is a volunteer service that welcomes skilled migrants to South Australia.
This unique service, provided by the Government of South Australia, is designed to help you settle quickly into your new home.
The free service is performed by volunteers from various cultural and professional backgrounds, many of whom have been migrants themselves and are sensitive to the needs of new arrivals.

Skills Recognition Support Services
Migrant Employment Consultancy Service (MECS)
The Migrant Employment Consultancy Service (MECS) helps skilled migrants and their spouses seek employment when they arrive in South Australia.
It equips them with the additional skills they need in preparation to work in Australia.
Organised and managed by Interlink, at the Adelaide Institute of Tertiary and Further Education (TAFE), it provides one-to-one consulting so skilled migrants are fully supported in finding suitable employment.

Overseas Qualifications Service (OQS)
The Overseas Qualifications Service enables skilled migrants and their spouses to compare their academic or technical qualification to educational standards in South Australia. Offered by the Government of South Australia, the comparative assessments are based on guidelines developed
by the National Office of Overseas Skill Recognition (NOOSR). An assessment will give potential employers information on how your and your spouse’s qualifications correspond to Australian educational qualifications, and provides an indication of the general academic comparability of a particular field of study.

Trades Recognition Support Service
The Trades Recognition Support Service is a free service aiming to support people who have trade skills and experience. If you or your spouse have the qualifications and/or skills and experience to work as a tradesperson this service will help to gain recognition and access pathways to employment opportunities in South Australia. It may not always be necessary to have trade recognition to work in a trade, however, in some occupations licensing or registration is mandatory.
