Important Note to Clients thinking of applying for Business Migration: 163/164/165
Clients are required to complete the relevant online application (ie 163/164/165) accurately and truthfully and submit it electronically via the Immigration SA website. If you are unable to complete the application in one attempt, you can save the incomplete application and resume the process at a later date. In this instance, you will need to note down the reference ID number when you first log in, to enable future access to your unfinished application. After you have completed the on-line application form, you will be instructed on the Application Cover Sheet (Form A) to what documents need to be sent to Immigration SA. Please only send the documents that are outlined on Form A.

South Australian sponsorship is available for all business migration categories including Business Owner, Senior Executive, Investor and Business Talent. The South Australian Government values the contribution that business people make to our economy through increased exports, investment, job creation, and the introduction of new and improved technology.
Business Senior Executive 164This visa is available to Senior Executives who have occupied a position in the three highest levels of the management structure of a major business. This is a provisional visa which allows the holder to establish or conduct a business in South Australia. The visa is valid for a period of four years with the intention of the applicant to apply for permanent residency at a later stage. Business Migration Support ServicesThe South Australian Government has established the Business Migrant Support Services to help business migrants settle into South Australia. The Business Migrant Support Service is available to business migrants sponsored by the South Australian Government (Immigration SA). Services include:

After arrival in South AustraliaIt is a requirement that you contact Immigration SA in writing or in person within two months after you have formally settled in South Australia at a temporary or permanent residence; and you have registered a business in South Australia. You are required to provide details of your current residential address and your business name and location if applicable. Please ensure that you clearly identify yourself by providing a copy of your current passport photo page with your updated contact details.
It is also a requirement that you inform Immigration SA of any further changes to your residential and business details while you are the holder of a subclass 164 visa.
Should you conduct a business different from what is proposed in your original business plan due to the change of business circumstance after your arrival and settlement, you are required to notify Immigration SA in writing. Please note it is not a requirement for visa holders to submit an updated business plan but formal notification of the change is required in writing.
Sponsorship from the South Australian Government is not transferable to other States or Territories in Australia. Applying for State SponsorshipTo apply for sponsorship from Immigration SA, please ensure that the following requirements are undertaken:
All required and supporting documents need to be sent to Immigration SA no more then two months from submitting your online application.
All documentation submitted to Immigration SA is kept confidential. Personal information will not be released unless the applicant gives his/her consent. Processing timeThe State Government sponsorship application is free of charge and takes approximately four weeks to process. Processing of your application will only commence when the on-line application has been submitted electronically AND all the supporting documentation as out lined in Form A have been received by Immigration SA.
Please note that where the supporting documentation to an application is complete and clearly shows that the applicant meets all of the relevant requirements, application is less likely to be delayed in processing. This timeframe is subject to change dependant on the quantity of applications being processed. Using a Migration AgentWhen utilising the services of a Migration agent, it is in your best interest to ensure that the Agent is registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). To check if your agent is registered, please log on to http://www.themara.com.au
Registered migration agents are bound by the Migration Agents Code of Conduct and generally charge for their services. The MARA investigates complaints against registered migration agents and may take disciplinary action against them. If you have a concern about a registered migration agent, you should contact the MARA. You can also download a copy of the complaint form from the MARA's website. If you make a complaint against a migration agent, the complaint should be made to the MARA in writing. If you have difficulty with written English, you may prefer to attach a letter, in your own language. The MARA cannot accept a complaint made via the telephone.
